Knight-seeking,

For the final portion of your task, I should like you to take up a cause of your choosing within southern Kalimdor and set up a plan of action that will involve your swordbrethren.

Please see me to apprise me of your arrangements.

Proposal: Servitor Assistance in the Care of Karnum's Glade, Desolace

After reviewing major developments in southern Kalimdor, and in light of the Servitors' recent loss of Ser Edgthorn Asteris and Maesaeloria Kylael Nash, it is my desire to lead a team of swordbrethren on a mission of peace and growth.

The region known as Karnum's Glade, in central Desolace, is a verdent haven cultivated from an oasis formed in the wake of the Shattering. Under the care of the Cenarion Circle, it has since grown considerably in size and could, in time, bring life to all of this long-barren region. The saplings coaxed into taking root there now may become towering trees that will stand for centuries. For the Servitors to have a hand in this process would serve as a long-standing legacy to those of ours most devoted to the cause of life.

Given the continuous nature of the Karnum's Glade project and the implicit need for diplomacy with the Cenarion Druids, I anticipate that a meaningful contribution of Servitor aid would require a minimum of one week of our swordbrethren's time. In light of this, participation will be strictly voluntary.

Pending approval and a preliminary roster of volunteers, I will confer with Master Marshweaver and provide a more detailed list of requirements, as well as any needed supplies. I eagerly await your response.

Report: Karnum's Glade Volunteer Project (2/2 - 2/10)

Overview

Leading a team of twelve volunteer Servitors, Marshal Pearce sought to advance the Cenarion cause in central Desolace. The team has lent its knowledge in botany, zoology, civil engineering, pedology, diplomacy and trans-continental trade. In addition to stronger ties with the Cenarion Circle, the Servitors have also gained detailed knowledge of the new varieties of life living within the Glade.

Participants

The Academe-Marshal recruited the following volunteers:
  • Academe-Adjutant Prikka Graymind
  • Academe-Marshal Mirelle Ashton
  • Academe-Marshal Aenardron Hawkins
  • Guard-Soldier Andann Flint
  • Guard-Soldier Braenna Ironbeard
  • Guard-Soldier Sila Longsight
  • Academe-Soldier Reddwyn Merriweather
  • Guard-Soldier Olleron Nightwind
  • Guard-Soldier Squink Shadowquill
  • Academe-Cleric Doret Westfield
  • Guard-Novice Llyewell Brannagh
  • Guard-Novice Almara Redmist

Services Rendered

  • Aided the Cenarions in the observation, study and cataloging of local plant species. (Conducted by Graymind, Flint, Shadowquill, Brannagh and Redmist. See Appendix A for complete findings.)
  • Aided in the observation, study and cataloging of local animal species. (Conducted by Graymind, Pearce, Longsight, Brannagh and Redmist. See Appendix B for complete findings.)
  • Designed and implemented a self-powered irrigation system. (Conducted by Hawkins and Ironbeard. See Appendix C for diagram and technical specifications.)
  • Consulted the Cenarions on the proper conservation of topsoil through the use of arboreal root systems. (Conducted by Nightwind. See Appendix D for a list of local tree species and their respective roles in this function.)
  • Mediated an agreement between the Cenarion Circle and Reclaimers, Inc. of Ironforge to permit supervised harvesting of local species for commercial use. (Conducted by Westfield. See Appendix E for agreement language.)
  • Secured long-term agreements with both local and out-of-area merchants for supplies, ensuring a steady and predictable cost of operations. (Conducted by Merriweather and Westfield. See Appendix F for summary.)
  • Established a Cenarion liaison to an established Desolace resident, thereby working to overcome a previous misunderstanding between both parties. (Conducted by Westfield.)
  • Recruited interested adventurers to the above-mentioned research efforts, while directing others to nearby demon camps. (Conducted by Pearce and Ashton. See Appendix G for a list of recruited volunteers.)
  • Furthered the Cenarion Circle's familiarity with and friendliness toward the Servitors of Lothar. (Conducted by Pearce, Ashton and Westfield. See Appendix H for a list of ongoing contacts.)

Future Implications

The team isolated several new plant toxins (see Appendix A), some of which may have use in weaponized form. It is worth noting that naturally-occurring antivenoms for each compound have already been isolated (see Appendix B).

The installed irrigation system, being an unconventional blend of civil engineering and shamanistic magics (see Appendix C), may serve as a prototype for future efforts in other poorly-hydrated regions.

Should the Glade continue expanding at its current rate, the Cenarion Circle will soon need aid in a more aggressive purging of local demonic taint.

Karnum Marshweaver, lead protector and namesake of the Glade, has noted that Servitor volunteers were generally more respectful of local procedural norms than most other outside sources of aid. For this reason, all interested Servitors are in a favorable position to continue research there should they so wish.
