Current Events in Guild Canon (Updated 12/09/14)

This post will be updated periodically with a summary of where lore events stand in guild canon. Remember to be flexible when RPing with people outside of SoL--they may be ahead of or behind us, and that's okay!

• The Siege of Orgrimmar is over. Garrosh is held by the Shado-Pan pending his trial.
• The war with the Horde is cold again.
• The Thunder King is dead, and the threat of the Mogu quashed.
• The Timeless Isle is a thing, but not a priority.
• The Wildhammer, and thus the Servitors, remain the last Alliance bastion in the north. The Forsaken have been quiet lately.

• Complete elimination of the Sha. No more Sha ever. Sorry, Sha-lovers.
• Dalaran re-opened to Alliance.
• Retreat of the Mantid.
• Reduction of Horde/Alliance forces in Pandaria.
• Eventual withdrawal of Horde forces from Ashenvale in exchange for Kaldorei-supplied lumber. Talks may go on for a while.

(Disclaimer...the following are lore events and canon as we understand them to be at this time.)

• Alliance forces are in Draenor to fight the Iron Horde.
• Draenor is not so much an alternate time as an AU existing in its own little "pocket" of the time stream.  
• Kairoz and Wrathion used the Vision of Time to move Garrosh to this AU.  Two or three years have passed in alternate Draenor while Garrosh rallied the orcs.
• The Dark Portal remains as it has been, and it leads to Outland, not Draenor.
• Velen is still alive on Azeroth.  Azeroth still faces the same dangers as always, such as Old Gods, crazy Elemental Lords, etc.  Any Iron Horde that happened to be on the Azeroth side of the Portal when it was destroyed in Draenor are, presumably, stranded remnants.
