The history of Scruff

0
Kylin Bearclaw was born to a small, tight-knit squabble of Harvest Witches, protecting lands thick with Trees, on the edges of Gilneas, land untouched by those who ruled over them. From as early as he could remember, life was preparing for how to live alone, in the forest. Kylin's unusual fierceness was praised, rather than worried over, from those who watched, taught him.

Well into his years before the "curse" of the Worgen came to him, Kylin Bearclaw lived his birthright to the utmost of expectation, dedicated to protecting the forests of Gilneas. Always on edge, he wielded his alchemical concoctions and natural magics with reckless abandon, usually hindering other witches in his tireless service to the Trees.

When the curse of the Worgens came upon Gilneas, Kylin was of the first on the fringes of the land, to pick up spear and take the fight to the beasts. Kylin survived the war longer than most, leading a small group of witches in keeping the battles out of the forests; ceaseless battles with roving bands of Worgen. But like too many; Kylin bore a glancing bite, during one of the last battles his Circle would engage in.

Spared a quick death, Kylin was saved, his curse tamed by the Night Elves, and his commitments towards saving Gilneas were refreshed. The worgen abandoned who he was in life as a human, forgetting his own name and assuming the moniker of Scruff and leapt into becoming a nameless entity wandering the forests he called Home, empowered through his commitments to Nature, he allowed some elves to teach him some new tricks. While able to pull his rage down to become somewhat Human again; Kylin only used this skill as he did his new found animal forms, a skill in with which to trick any who would harm Nature.

Denying his own self, Scruff has begun to lose his moral compass, slipping deeper into the psyche of the forms he assumes. Only dimly aware of these manifestations, Scruff has made the decision to find himself a pack, to assist him in staying sane enough not to stray from the path of righteousness.
