((This is what happens on slow days when I have RP outlets .
This is not a full history, just a general summery. I may add or remove things later. More then likely add then remove though, to add more detail.))

This story begins one thousand seven hundred forty three years after the sundering. On February fourth of that year in Ashenvale forest on the outskirts of Astranaar was born the woman that would eventually be Neflarion Shadowflame's mother.

She was a happy and healthy child raised in the forests with little to no cares in the world. As she grew, so did her reverence for nature. She would spend many hours exploring the forest end befriending the animals that lived there.

As she aged, she developed a love of the elegance and grace of bows. Eventually she began to practice archery. By her three hundredth birthday her skills with a bow were enough to get by. She was lacking the will to make a kill and as such had never practiced on moving targets.

After a few hundred years she finally let herself be convinced to go on a family hunting trip into the forest. During the trip she was separated from the group for a short time. She did not mind as she was used to the forests. While she wandered around she happened upon a young lone wolf.

Without warning the wolf attacked her catching the young elf by surprise. She was not used to defending herself against such an attack and suffered a great many injuries to her arms, legs, and torso. Eventually she was knocked off her feet and her subconscious took over. Grabbing an arrow that fell out of her quiver she stabbed the wolf in the heart as it moved in for the kill.

The experience of her first reluctant kill devastated her, even after she was found and brought home. She refused to hunt or even touch a bow or arrow for four hundred years. Nothing her family did or said would change her mind.

One day during a trip to Astranaar Linara was introduced to a young man. His name was Salianos Darkleaf. The pair was more or less indifferent of each other. As they spoke they made verbal jabs at the other. This continued on for about two hundred years during the occasional trips to Astranaar.

During that time the two had become friends even though from the outside it would have been hard to tell. Even though Salianos was over three hundred years younger than Linara his hunting skills rivaled her own. As the two became closer Salianos eventually was able to convince Linara to take up the bow again and even managed to coax her back into the hunt.

It took several hundred years but eventually he got her over her fear of killing. By Linara's fifteen hundredth birthday they had become quite close and were considering a life together. The only real thing standing in their way was the decision over whose name they would take.

Linara being the older of two sisters at this point wished to carry on her name. Salianos being the middle of three was determined to help carry on his. After several hours of argument they could not decide. When talking failed Linara's sister Maynara offered a suggestion, a contest between the two to decide which name to take.

Both agreed to the contest and began to set about determining the exact rules. A week later their contest began. They both gave their all but eventually Linara won out. Three months later they were joined and Salianos became a member of the Starskin family, receiving a tattoo of a white ten pointed star on the back of his right shoulder.

For thousands of years Linara and Salianos lived in relative peace and happiness. Growing to love each other and nature more and more as time passed. All the while they continued to improve their skills as hunters. Occasionally they talked of children but never made a point to have one.

In February three hundred and fifty two years ago Linara informed Salianos and her family that she was with child. Overjoyed by the news their family threw a large celebration for the two of them. Afterwards life continued as close to normal as possible until Linara’s pregnant body protested and she took the opportunity to rest for a few months.

On the morning of August twenty ninth Linara gave birth to a son, who they named Kathoredah. The boy inherited the dark green hair of his mother and the strong look in his father’s eyes. The young elf proved to be more of a handful then both his parents had expected.

Not too long after Kathoredah’s birth Maynara and her new husband came to live with them. With the four adults looking after him the boy was trained from an early age how to be a hunter. When he was not training however he was always getting into mischief. It took thirty four years for the young hunter to learn to be more serious but he never got completely over his young antics.

At the age of forty his parents finally deemed him old enough to receive the tattoo of the Starskin. It took a few tries to convince their son to go through with it. Eventually he consented and the same white ten pointed star was placed on the back of his right shoulder like the rest of his family.

The next three hundred years passed by relatively uneventfully for the young hunter and his family. Constantly being trained and tested by his family. He always enjoyed his uncle’s tests of his skill the most as he held back the least. He also spent a great deal of time exploring the forests. By the time he was three hundred he knew every inch of the forest.

The peace lasted until the invasion of the Orcish horde into the forest. The family of hunters was quickly displaced as the orcs entered the forest and began to chop down trees including the tree in which they had made their home. Unable to stop the onslaught they were forced to retreat. They continued to be pushed back even more with the arrival of Legion and the Scourge.

The five hunters continued to flee the invading forces until they met with the main force of the Kaldorei on the slopes of Mt. Hyjal. There they stood as the Legion and the Scourge pushed through the human and orc camps. As the Kaldorei held the line Kathoredah was knocked unconscious by his uncle and carried off to safety by a druid of the talon. By the battles end the four had been killed.

The next day the elf awoke and looked around for the family that he once knew. Searching the bodies of the Kaldorei he eventually found their bodies. In an instant his life had snapped in two and a burning rage filled his heart. As the fire of his rage burned he looked for someone or something to blame for his loss. Eventually deciding that it was Elune’s fault for allowing the death of his family, he resolved to keep his anger contained as much as possible.

A few days after the battle the young hunter decided to change his name and burry his past and channel his anger when possible. After contemplating names he finally decided on Neflarion Shadowflame. Using this new name he traveled to Stormwind and joined the Alliance army. Channeling his anger into kill horde where possible was not enough to douse the flames of his heart.

Eventually he learned how to suppress the outward appearance of his anger. To date nothing has done to ease the burning anger towards Elune or the undead that took his family.
