A Hunter's Reverie

“Monster.”

The words flowed into the Hunter’s ears like a misbegotten melody, her enchanted collar translating the words into her mind. Inclining her head slightly to the side, her fel green eyes revealed a pair of dwarves huddled in a corner, tankards held tightly in their hands. “Drinking for comfort I suppose.” The Hunter mused as she offered the dwarves a sincere smile as she moved past them. It was to be expected, people fear what they don’t understand, and all that.

As much as the Hunter desired to be out hunting the legion, she had a task here. Offering her company to a lonely part of the keep, she rested her warglaives on the side of the wall and lowered herself to the ground, granting herself a time to reflect. It was a frantic week, her release, the legion’s invasion, and now she finds herself amongst the company of the Alliance, under heavy siege from the Legion. She never considered she would end up in this situation, yet here she was.

The hunter felt her mind wander. How long had it been since she had last seen Pandaren? Not since… Zin-Ashari. Yet now they mingle freely with Humans, Dwarves, gnomes… Kaldorei. And the Worgen… did they truly grew that desperate that they felt the need unleashed those creatures? The hunter ran her fingers through her silvery white hair, feeling the weight of millennia upon her. She suddenly felt very old indeed.

Still, watching the disparate races working so closely together brought her hope. Perhaps one day she would return to her people, not as a hunter, just a simple Kaldorei. She had heard news of a new city; Darnassus atop another world tree. He would dearly like to visit one day, see if any of her descendants yet survive, perhaps building a new home. Smiling softly, she recalled the words of the Commander of the Servitors. “What do the illidari do for fun.”

“I suppose we’ll find out.” She whispered as she left her warglaives behind.
