Gnomeregan Investigation
Adjutant Longsight;
On the afternoon of February 11, Adjutant Graymind and I infiltrated the lower levels of Gnomeregan. We were able to successfully locate the tremor sensors and geostability matrices that had been set up to provide early warning of trogg invasions, and print the data they had recorded for the previous year.
With the aid of a map, likewise acquired, we were able to isolate the location of Adjutant Graymind's Hive, and look for seismic disturbances which would indicate travel to, or from, said hive. Apart from the expected seismic spikes (i.e., the Adjutant's emergence from and subsequent attempt to relocate the Hive), no disturbances were found in that region.
From this evidence, we can tentatively assume that the Writing found recently in the Adjutant's possession was not brought to the surface any time in the past year, nor were materials for a suitable forgery acquired in that span of time. If it is a forgery, the materials were already in possession of the forger. If it is not, it was transported to the surface by means unknown to us. Investigations will continue as avenues present themselves.
